Tramway Press is dedicated to carrying on the work & legacy of Park City, Utah writer & historian Gary Kimball.

Gary Kimball ( April 30, 1937 - June 5, 2018) was a fourth generation Park City native, having lived all his life in Park City except for time served in the Navy and away at college.

Gary loved Park City and history. He merged these passions; writing about Park City’s colorful past often focusing on those minorities who worked in the mines, stores and saloons. Gary published accounts in the Lodestar Magazine and the Park Record. He authored & published several books on Park City history via his own imprint Tramway (Press). Gary belonged to many social justice organizations and always took an interest in community issues. He served on the Park City’s Historical Preservation Board. In August 2009, Park City proclaimed him as the town’s historian or as the Mayor said “Ye Official Old Guy”.
